The project is located in SNNPRS. The works to be carried out under this contract comprises the rehabilitation of Alaba-Sodo-Arbaminch Road Project, Contract 2: Humbo-Arbaminch, which is approximately 75.7km. The starting point of the project road is the outskirts of Humbo Town while the end is Arbaminch town. The project is concerned mainly with complete reconstruction of a worn out DSD pavement with 5cm Aspahltic concrete pavement, construction of shoulders, widening of carriageways in towns with sidewalks and drainage, provision of additional cross drainage structures and construction of a new 62m spanned bridge on pile foundation as replacement of a collapsed bridge.
The project is located in Oromia and Amhara Regions. The project road starts at Modjo town which is 75km from Addis Ababa in the Eastern Shewa Zone of Ormoia. The contract comprises upgrading of the existing gravel surfaced road to paved asphalt road using triple surface dressing pavement. In general, the proposed horizontal alignment traverses close to the existing route with some offline improvement to achieve the desired design standards which ERA DS4. The road will have a 7m carriageway and 1.5m shoulder on both sides in rural section while in town sections the carriageway and parking lane is 14m in total. The town section will also have pedestrian walkway and side ditches on both sides of the road.
The Wachil - Mega Road Upgrading project is located in the southern part of the country, approximately 671 km from Addis Ababa. The existing road is a gravel road found at good condition in therms of drivability. It connects five major settlement areas. These are Wachile, Das, Gayo, Soda and Medecho. Administratively, the project road travels through three woredas, namely Arero, Das and Dire.
Tercha – Woldehana - Omonada Junction road project starts at town called Tercha which is located at 148km from Jimma in the south east direction and turning to the right before reaching Sodo town. The project end i.e. Omonada Junction is located at 292 km from A.A. on the road from Addis to Jimma town. The geographical location of the start and end of the project are 296 854, 789 814 for Tercha town and 084 9663, 030 5252 for Omonada Junction. The road is a link gravel road.
Jimma - Chida road project starts from the center of Jimma town and ends at the junction to Sodo Town in Chida town . The project is a link crushed gravel road project (B52 -1 un paved road under ERA Manual road network classification). Totally, the road length is about 80km.
The project is located in North western part of the country, in Amhara Regional state of North Gondar zone. It connects Gondar with Kola Diba and Chewahit Wereda. It is an old gravel road constructed during the Italian occupation and presently under ERA Northern Regional Director. The project starts from Azezo town 733 km from Addis Ababa turning to the left and ends at Gorgora town with total length of 55km. Except the first 3km asphalt road till Gondar Airport, the remaining stretch is gravel surfaced road. The project is designed as Paved Road (DBST).
The Gob Gob – Gashena Road upgrading consists of up grading of the existing gravel surfaced road to a two lane bituminous surfaced pavement for 86 km, with a 7m carriage way width and 1.5m shoulders at each side. The work includes improvement in geometric conditions, drainage provisions, and structures along the route
The project is located in Amhara Region. The works to be carried out under Beto river bridge 1 contract comprises the construction of 80m long bridge which consists 40m long from pier to pier R.C box girder bridge and 20m long abutment to pier R.C girder bridge with a width of 8.92 meters and 10.52m respectively. The works to be carried out under Beto river bridge 2 contract comprises the construction of 40m long R.C. box girder with a width of 8.92 meters bridge.
The project is located in Benishangul Gumuz Regional State. Assosa and Guba lie about 650km and 680km from Addis Ababa respectively. The project essentially consists of construction of about 66.2 km gravel surfaced road, with a 6m carriageway width. The work comprises of upgrading about 42.8 km of existing road and construction of about 23.4 km of new road. The other main task of the project is the construction of a 355m long bridge over the Blue Nile River. The arrangement of the bridge is 2X20M (steel reinforced concrete “T” beam) +70M (steel truss beam) +35M (steel truss beam) +70M (steel truss beam) +7X20M (steel reinforced concrete “T” beam).
The project starts at Kombolcha town, which is 370km from Addis Ababa along the Addis Ababa - Debre Birhan - Kombolcha - Desse - Woldiya - Mekele trunk asphalt road. The project road connects the Amhara Regional state to the Afar Regional State and finally to the Djibouti Port. The existing Kombolcha - Bati - Mille road is 130km long. The road was designed by Carl Bro International in association with DANA Consult PLC in 2003. ERA, launched this project to get the previous design reviewed to conform to its current standards. The total road length was constructed first by telford (hand laid stone) constructed directly on sub grade and blinded with crushed aggregate on top of it.
